The Paddling South Difference

Why Choose
Paddling South

Baja offers many outfitters, but none quite like us.

Here’s what sets Paddling South apart:

Guides Who Feel Like Family

Our guides are more than trip leaders: they’re your hosts, storytellers, and newfound friends. Many grew up along this coastline and bring a deep, personal connection to the land and sea. Guests often return year after year to paddle again with the same guides, forming lasting bonds that transcend the trip itself.

Having run a guiding business in the Canadian Rockies for 37 years, I have some sense of what makes a good operation. And although the overall operation was excellent, it was your staff who made this trip so outstanding. – Peter, Vancouver

David and Adrian were tremendous. Kind, funny, knowledgeable, and endlessly helpful — they made us feel completely taken care of. By the end of the trip, it felt like we were traveling with family.

Gourmet Camp Cuisine, Baja Style

We’re known for turning “camp food” into an art form. Imagine ceviche on a white-sand beach, warm tortillas at sunset, and coffee waiting as dawn breaks over the Sea of Cortez. Our kitchen team takes pride in crafting fresh, locally inspired meals that nourish body and spirit alike.

Here’s one of the only ways to get true home-cooking in Baja. Ironic, but you’ll eat better on a beach than in town! Every meal was delicious – I’m definitely going back.

Antonio is THE BEST chef ever. Every single mouthful was delicious – the freshest fish, unforgettable ceviche, and meals I literally licked my plate over. If you can get on a trip with Antonio, seize the opportunity.

Wild Encounters in Paradise

Each day brings new wonders: dolphins gliding beside your kayak, whales breaching on the horizon, pelicans diving in the shallows, or a rainbow of tropical fish on your snorkel break. This is Baja at its most intimate — wild, raw, and soul-stirring.

An inspiring week in Baja heaven – whales, dolphins, marine mammals everywhere. If you love wildlife, great food, and adventure, this is a bucket-list trip.

We had close encounters with humpback and gray whales, dolphins, sea turtles — even watched marine life from camp. Between the wildlife, coastline, and islands, this trip was perfect in every way.

Our Commitment to Care

We keep our groups small, our standards high, and our operations personal. With both skiff-supported and self-sufficient expeditions, every paddler can find their perfect pace. We take care of every detail so you can simply relax into the rhythm of the sea.
